Updated over a week ago

Creating Smart Links for Your Releases with Family in Music.

With Family in Music, you can now create smart links for your music releases. This allows you to easily promote your music and make it simpler for your fans to access it across different platforms.

Understanding Smart Links.

A smart link serves as a centralized hub for your music, consolidating content from different platforms into one easily accessible location. This simplifies the process for your fans, directing them to their preferred streaming platform with just a single click. By utilizing smart links, you can enhance accessibility and broaden the reach of your music.

Key Features and Benefits.

Once a fan visits your smart link, you gain access to valuable insights and capabilities, including:

  • Retargeting Ads: Utilize Facebook Ads & Google Ads to retarget ads specifically to fans who clicked on your smart links.

  • Streaming Preferences: Gain insights into which streaming services your fans utilize the most.

  • Geographical Data: Discover where your fans are located geographically.

  • Traffic Analysis: Track the effectiveness of your social media platforms in driving traffic to your smart link.

Step-by-Step Guide: Creating Your Smart Link.

  1. Log in to your Family in Music account.

  2. Navigate 'MUSIC' > 'Open Catalog'

  3. Select the 'Released' tab to view your distributed releases.*

  4. Click on the 'Create smart link' button for the desired releases.

πŸ’‘ *Note that the smart links feature is only available for releases distributed via Family in Music.

πŸ’‘ *If you have distributed via Family in Music and the release doesn't appear yet, click the 'Update' button.

Pre-Save links.

When you distribute a release ahead of its live date, the generated smart link functions as a pre-save link. This allows your fans to place a 'virtual order' for your upcoming release, which will then be automatically added to their streaming libraries the moment it goes live.

On the day your music becomes available, the link will automatically convert to the released version, and you can continue using the same smart link to direct fans to your music.
